As part of the wider approach every child must learn to make toward recycling, Bloemfontein’s Homeschooling kids have certainly made great strides!

The Recycled Dress and Art Competition, [which is now in its first year] – an initiative which was taken by number of homeschooling moms – received eight entries in the Dress Category, and five in the Art Category.

“Not many people do the recycling thing, and we hope that this project will make people aware of how much we throw away so regularly,” one of the moms told My City.

Though their entries had been planned since the beginning of the year, to make the process of finding materials a bit less complicated, this past weekend saw the competition at Preller Walk and – after more than five hundred votes – this morning ushered in the announcement of the winners.

My City would like to congratulate those who’d won for their Art Pieces:

Keagan Fourie [1st]
Janco Cronje [2nd]
Dominique Neves [3rd]

And those who’d won for their dresses:

Ava Fourie [1st]
Ava Pienaar [2nd]
Miecqe Cronje [3rd]

We are sure that this is but the first step in a long and successful creative journey!
